Woodvale BC is one of the largest clubs in the Southport & District Badminton League, with 8 teams across all ability levels. The club started in 1967 with 2 teams and has grown steadily under the stalwart leadership of Malcolm and Julie Banham. The 1st team is settled in Division 1, achieving third place in 1999/2000, its highest ever finish. Miles Johnson played for the club for several seasons from 2000, winner of a Commonwealth Games medal.

The club has a vibrant and successful junior section with over 60 youngsters receiving weekly coaching sessions, and also caters for adult beginners.
